Merchant Tax Report (MTR) or Amazon Fulfilled Shipments

We are getting mix opinions from the Sellers selling on Amazon

Merchant Tax Report (MTR)

Pros

  • This is an preferred report by the accountants & Tax Consultants, as it includes complete Accounting, Inventory & Compliance information including Invoice Numbers to update books of accounts & file GSTR1

Cons

  • Currently this report is available post completion of a month, so sellers get stuck to update their Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly Sales, Receivables & Inventory in the Tally
  • This report does not includes Buyer Information

Amazon Fulfilled Shipments

Pros

  • This is an preferred report by the Sellers, Decision Makers and Accountants as it also includes complete Accounting, Inventory & Compliance information to update books of accounts & file GSTR1
  • This report can be downloaded on Daily basis including current date, so updating books is simpler
  • This report includes buyer information also to capture in your books

Cons

  • This report does not includes Invoice Numbers but you can use Order Number as Invoice number since the Invoice numbers is not required in GSTR1
